SUSTAINABILITY

HomeSustainability

Planeta Fest is designed taking into account the place where it happens, the people who take part and the territory that hosts it.

Sustainability is part of how the festival is organised: in the choice of spaces, in production set-ups, in mobility and in the relationship with the local community.

HOW THE FESTIVAL IS ORGANISED

Each space and each activity are different.
That is why measures are adapted to each real context and are not applied uniformly.

Responsible use of public space, efficient production planning and collaboration with local providers and teams are prioritised whenever possible.

SPACES AND MOBILITY

The programme is concentrated in nearby and well-connected spaces, especially in La Laguna, the main venue of the festival.

Walking, public transport and grouping activities by area are encouraged, reducing unnecessary travel and improving access for the public.

USE OF RESOURCES

During the festival, efforts are made to reduce energy consumption and avoid single-use materials.

Whenever possible, natural light is used, connection to the power grid is prioritised and water points are installed to reduce disposable containers.

PEOPLE AND COMMUNITY

Planeta Fest works with local professionals and organisations and takes care of working conditions for its teams.

The festival aims to generate a positive cultural and social impact beyond the days of the event.

COMMITMENT TO THE SDGS

Planeta Fest aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals through its way of programming, producing and relating to its environment.

Specifically, the project focuses on the following SDGs:

SDG 5 · Gender Equality
Promoting equality, diversity and balanced participation in teams and programming.

SDG 10 · Reduced Inequalities
Designing an accessible festival open to people with different realities and abilities.

SDG 11 · Sustainable Cities and Communities
Using public space responsibly and valuing the urban and cultural environment.

SDG 12 · Responsible Consumption and Production
Applying criteria for conscious use of resources, waste reduction and efficient planning.

SDG 17 · Partnerships for the Goals
Working in collaboration with institutions, cultural organisations and local agents.

Each edition serves to review what has been learned and to improve the next one.
